Strategy & Scoring

How TokenSignal checks events, calculates scores, and selects conferences

How the Signal Score Works

The Signal Score (0-100) estimates the token and event's investment attractiveness from supported facts. Unknown factors receive no rating. A score requires a supported assessment of event benefit; optional unknown factors do not block it. Otherwise it shows Not rated.

The total uses only rated factors, rescales their weights to 100%, and rounds to the nearest five points. Coverage shows how much of the original weighting was assessed. For example, 75% coverage means a quarter of the weighting is unknown; it is not a confidence level. Compare coverage and missing factors alongside the score.

Event benefit carries 70% of the weight: what this occurrence changes for existing holders or eligible participants after supported costs and restrictions. Project quality adds context but cannot turn a neutral or adverse event into a high score. Missing factors remain visible; this is not a return forecast.

Factor	Weight	Evidence Considered
Token economics	15%	Holder value capture, valuation, dilution, supply, allocation and unlock pressure
Product & adoption	10%	Demonstrated delivery, real usage, traction and ecosystem adoption
Event benefit	70%	The incremental investor benefit and market relevance of this occurrence
Risks & barriers	5%	Execution, security, liquidity, access, lockup and effort; higher means more favourable conditions

Score Ranges

80-100: Strong event value

70-79: Positive event value

40-69: Mixed event value

<40: Limited or adverse event value

What the Score Means

It summarizes the verified research available today. It is not a prediction, recommendation, or guarantee of returns.

AI compares accepted claims against a standard 0-4 rubric for each factor. The server rejects ratings without cited claims and calculates the weighted total; the model never supplies the final score directly.

Tracked Token Event Types

Event labels are normalized so each card describes the actual market stage users care about.

1

Private Sale

Early allocation round reserved for funds, angels, or strategic partners before the public market.

2

Presale (Public Token Sale)

Pre-listing public sale or wallet sale before the token starts open trading.

3

ICO (Initial Coin Offering)

Public token offering where buyers purchase directly from the project.

4

IEO (Initial Exchange Offering)

Exchange-run token sale where the centralized exchange handles listing and distribution.

5

IDO (Initial DEX Offering)

Token sale launched through a decentralized exchange or IDO platform.

6

Launchpad Sale

Exchange or platform allocation program that distributes a new token sale to selected users.

7

Launchpool

Stake-to-earn launch campaign where users deposit assets to farm new tokens.

8

TGE (Token Generation Event)

The token creation and launch milestone when supply is minted or officially activated.

9

Token Launch

The token becomes publicly tradable on an exchange or DEX market.

10

Airdrop

Free token distribution to users, community members, or campaign participants.

11

Token Unlock

Scheduled vesting or allocation release that unlocks previously restricted tokens.

12

Mainnet Launch

Network launch milestone tied to a token's go-live, migration, or ecosystem release.

13

Product Launch

Launch of a crypto product, app, exchange, marketplace, protocol feature, or ecosystem platform where a token has explicit utility.

14

Network Upgrade

Material protocol upgrade, migration, fork, or token swap requiring network or holder action.

15

Staking / Rewards

New staking, farming, or rewards campaign with defined user actions.

16

Tokenomics Change

Material supply, allocation, emissions, burn, or vesting change affecting holders.

Coverage & Limits

TokenSignal covers fundraising and distribution, exchange launches, airdrops, unlocks, mainnet and product launches, network upgrades, staking rewards, and tokenomics changes.

Automated research finds leads, but public facts, analysis, and metric ratings must be supported by accepted evidence. The server calculates the total from supported ratings and shows missing factors separately.

Dates, funding details, links, and event labels can still be incomplete, stale, or wrong, so important decisions should always be verified on official project pages.

Conference Curation

Conferences stay separate from token events so the main calendar remains focused. The conference list highlights upcoming industry events with clear crypto or Web3 relevance and useful official information.

Established events are prioritized, while newer conferences can qualify when their industry relevance and credibility are clear.

A public listing needs a verified event name, complete date or date range, location, description, and official conference page. Conflicting or incomplete details remain under review.

Conference discovery runs daily. The sidebar shows the next five editions, while the full conferences page lists every qualified upcoming edition.

How an Event Earns a Listing

A mention is a lead, not a confirmed event. Before publication, TokenSignal checks four things:

The project and event match

The project name, event type, and timing must describe the same occurrence and be supported by saved evidence.

Timing is shown honestly

Confirmed days are shown as exact dates. If evidence supports only a month, quarter, range, or TBA, the listing keeps that uncertainty visible.

Source strength sets the bar

Official and established event sources can support a listing after consistency checks. Weaker or ambiguous evidence needs independent confirmation.

Published events stay under review

Upcoming listings are checked again as sources change. Material date, identity, or event changes reopen the research instead of silently preserving stale information.

Where the Information Comes From

TokenSignal combines official project and event pages, exchange and launchpad announcements, established event calendars, market-data services, and reputable crypto publications.

Turning Evidence Into Research

Search results are treated as leads. Public facts must trace back to accepted evidence, and unsupported AI-written statements are rejected before they reach a listing.

How Often Information Updates

Token events

Listings are monitored throughout the day. Dedicated broad discovery runs twice daily, while incomplete or changing events can be revisited more often.

Conferences

Upcoming conference details are reviewed daily against available event sources.

Market context

The catalyst feed refreshes every three hours and stays separate from event verification and scoring.

Complementary News

News adds useful market context, but a headline cannot confirm an event or change its score without event-specific evidence.

Recent catalysts

The feed focuses on timely headlines that may affect sentiment, liquidity, access, regulation, or market structure.

Three-hour refresh

New headlines are checked every three hours and publisher concentration is limited.

Original sources

Each item links to the publisher so readers can review the full context directly.

Separate from verification

News context never bypasses the evidence checks required for a public event listing.

Risk Warning

TokenSignal is an AI-assisted research product. Treat every listing as a starting point, verify important details on official sources, and assume mistakes are possible.
